Mindfulness Now

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is a term which is used to describe various ways we can settle our nerves and anxieties, and become more fully present in our lives. In helping us to become aware of thoughts and emotions, we can deal with stress, and gradually improve our wellbeing.

According to the NHS Mindfulness-based therapies are recommended by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) as a way to treat less severe depression. NICE also recommends that employers make mindfulness available to all employees, to support mental wellbeing at work.

Mindfulness Now is a fully inclusive and adaptable, trauma informed programme, providing techniques and exercises designed to help people suffering from stress and anxiety, physical and emotional pain, as well as developing emotional resilience. Mindfulness Now is accredited by the UK College of MIndfulness Meditation.

Mindfulness Now classes will be offered in Fogo Kirk, beginning Saturday 25th April 10-11am, for 8 weeks.

The cost is £5 per session/£40 for the block, with all proceeds going to Fogo Trust.

Lorna French is a qualified Mindfulness Now Trainer, teacher, and member of the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
